    1. Hi Donald,
You will be able to submit a helpdesk ticket via It does not matter if it is on another device, just as long as you have access to submit one, you will be good to go. When submitting, also include in the ticket what issues you’re experiencing, which computer it is on your license key, and we can take it from there.

  1. I have been instructed to get into safe mode. The first instruction is to press the start button. I don’t have any button or key that says “start”. Do you mean the off/on button?
After that, I see that if I do get into safe mode, the mouse and keyboard do not work.
Should I just learn to live with my high level threat virus or malware?

    1. in windows 10 you can hold the shift key and click the windows button in the bottom left corner and restart , you can let go of the shift key when the screen gos blank

  2. I can’t get the screen to change – can’t find start up. The only screen that comes up is for the password and the password I had does not work. I hit change or reset password and no drive pops up. That’s all I can get it to do.

    1. If you’re currently getting assistance from our support team, make sure you reply to their email to advise them of your progress.

  3. I have been directed to this link by PC Matic, through link in email, to understand how to work Safe Mode. I can get to Safe Mode alright, and can use Safe Mode with networking like PC Matic wants me to do as I have done so in the past when PC Matic wasn’t even a company.

The problem I have is after the Safe Mode DOS Window is booted-up neither my mouse nor keyboard are usable. They simply have been disabled for some reason. Therefore the countdown timer starts and then Windows 7 boots-up.
    Any ideas PC Matic?
If I go to Microsoft for “help” and answers they simply want to charge an amount which I can use to buy an entirely new operating system. That I am not willing to do.
Perhaps knowledge exists amongst PC Matic or the visitors to this valuable link provided by PC Matic. I sincerely hope so.

    1. Hello Gus, please do let our support team know that when you get into safe mode the keyboard and mouse are no longer working. They may have some more insights on how to fix it!

      1. @Devin Bergin: Ah Ha! Someone cares!
Thank you Devin for this encouragement. I will put this problem with nonworking keyboard and mouse while in Safe Mode in as part of a email “reply” to an open ticket I have with PC Matic.
The facilities, instructions, and advice PC Matic has both provided and offered me on this independent ticket problem (non-related to the mouse and keyboard) seems to have fixed it. And I thank PC Matic for that. If Microsoft helps at all they direct you to foreigners in a foreign nation of whom I have a very difficult time understanding. Probably because I speak Southernese, and am an American, so of course it is all my fault.
The last time I dealt with such they tried a shakedown of me and requested my credit card number etc. I thought it odd because Microsoft already had the information. I apprised them I would personally write and dispatch a letter to Redmond, Washington to Microsoft’s president about this problem I was having. I had spent 5 days, one day 9 hours and all more than 4 and most 6-8, had been handed off to seven different technical help personnel, two at shift change, who started the process all over again, until I had reached their “top-tier” professional of whom advised I needed to do a total reinstall of Windows. This was all on the telephone mind you. I asked the new technical agents had not any notes been kept at all on what they had done? From which the problem could be advanced? Why start from scratch again? To say I became frustrated is an understatement. And for that stellar help they requested I fork over $99.95, which at the time would have bought me their newest operating system.
I have no intention of having such types help me again. It isn’t going to happen.
Not only did PC Matic send facilities for me to use and advice that was crystal clear to me on the open ticket they also did so very, very quickly. I recognize the value of that which seems increasingly hard to harvest in these days and times we live. Good customer service and a good product are combined. That is profitable to a company and separates successes from failures you know.

  4. Honestly I can’t believe all the nasty comments on this wonderful product and company. Seems like in this day and age everyone is quite open to disrespect and name calling. I have used PC Matic since almost the beginning. I have 2 licenses for all my devices plus family members. I’ve never had a problem in the world with them. Service if needed is almost immediate and always spot on. For those complaining about no phone number to talk to someone, please remember that if you can’t understand the written word where you can go back and refer to the instruction given, you will not remember anything past the 1st 2 instructions verbally and technical has not got the time to repeat it over and over so you can write it down. This is 2018 and email is the future. Think of it as your personal instruction book because you will refer back to it. Thank you so much PC Matic. You have saved me purchasing new pc’s many many times over the past years. I wouldn’t be without it. Also, people having problems with it should check to see no other software is on pc. That will create errors. You do not need not need other virus software with PC Matic. One stop shop for and so worth it. Of course Made in

  5. [Ticket #TGR-206-96283]: Still cannot get PC matic to finish loading

Windows Vista OS I just recently removed PCMATIC and installed the free version of PCMATIC. I got alittle further but now it simply wont launch PCMATIC. Launch screen is where it stays attempt after attempt.

    1. Gilbert, it looks like you’ve reached out to our customer support team. If you did that just recently their reply should be coming to you shortly. If you haven’t received it yet and you submitted previous to today, check your junk or spam folders for their reply.

    1. have had nothing but trouble with pc matic doesnt support microsoft 10 my computer has been hacked 5 times and switched to another security took you off pc mactic but still having same problems telling me to do super scan wont do it and keeps telling me my drivers are not up to date and keep getting reimage several times a day very discussed with pc magic thry dont ever answer you

      1. Hello Madeleine, PC Matic does support Windows 10 fully. I’m sorry that you had a problem with getting PC Matic up and running on your computer. It looks like our support team tried to provide you instructions to get logged into PC Matic and scanning several times in the past. Were those methods unsuccessful?

      1. It looks like you called to initiate a refund with out automated service and it refunded your second year that was due to start in March. The previous year that you used from March of 2017 to December is the one that was not refunded.

  7. I hate talking by email. Takes forever to get an answer and most times it’s not the right one. Email gives me a link to go to but part of my problem is that I can’t go to other links, not the ones I want to anyway. My computer takes me to wherever the hell it wants to, and that includes PCMatic. I click on scan or options and I get some site called “Stupid Dope” and cannot get out without turning off my computer. Am told to run in safe mode but the internet is not available in safe mode (wireless or hardwired). I get messages from PCmatic saying that my computer was scanned and everything is just fine, no action taken… this is obviously NOT the case. This is all quite frustrating because I cannot accomplish things that need to be done.

    1. John, I apologize that you’re having trouble working through the problem that you’ve run into. It looks like our support team sent a reply recently checking if you were able to access safe mode with networking which will enable the internet connection you’re looking for.

      1. I did reach out. There’s no customer service number so you type a message and wait for a reply, which when I got one was merely links to articles that didn’t do squat to help me out. I want a frigging human being I can speak with to resolve my issue! I paid for supposedly the best of the best in hacking prevention and customer service/IT support – I got hacked and now there’s no one to help me resolve the problem!? Will obviously be canceling my services with PCMatic. @Devin Bergin:

        1. @Catherine:
wow I thought I was the only one with pcmatic issues
emails you get from them are pretty generic and make you feel like a dumbass when what they tell you to do dosnt work
at least they got a band man
really great commercial with guitars n stuff catchy beat
yea that’s what I pay for good band music
don’t want to interrupt the practice session with an actual problem to fix
Ill just watch tv an listen to the band man

  8. In this day and age of plug-n-play, this program is a nightmare. You have to down load it then jump through hoop after hoop to get it to work. Then more hoops to get it to work every time you turn on your pc. I’ve spent two days now and many hours on this and it still isn’t working. I don’t want to read blog after blog looking for help. Taking a computer security course would have been faster than trying to install this mess. 🙁

    1. Vikki, I’m very sorry that you had a problem getting PC Matic to work. Typically it is a very fast setup process and I apologize that you had to go through several steps to get protection up and running. It looks like James from our Customer Support team refunded your purchase. We thank you for trying our product.

  9. i have very limited knowless on the computer i do not understand every you ask can take control . my laptop is thru my desk top and i have uverse with att. i call them yesterday and they couldnot fix my problem.

  10. I still can’t find what I’m looking for for Window 10 There is NO update & security under settings AND I can’t log in because of this:

    User Login
    Email Address
    Scripting is not enabled

You do not appear to have scripting enabled, or are using a utility that is blocking the correct operation of forms and scripting. The PC Pitstop site requires scripting to be enabled. Please see our troubleshooting page.

  11. I see my old friend Rob Cheng who I bought my PC MATIC from. But he said tech support has english as their first language.. However I can not find any way to prove that. I can not find any way to talk to anyone! I have a problem that is not covered in general FAQs but I am sure I am not alone. How do I talk to someone about a program running in the background as a service that is draining 98% of my system resources?

      1. All of our technical support goes through either the website or direct email at Since being in business, online support has been proven to be the most effective and efficient way to provide technical assistance. Unlike our competitors, our development and support services are all located in the United States. Feel free to check out where other software is being developed and supported here.

        1. Kayla, the proof is in the service I get. Your CEO can do all the talking on TV he wants, but If may computer is going down and I’m not getting automatic check on my computer that I’m expecting, that’s all it is just TALK and empty promises. At least, when I called ON MY PHONE my last computer company, He at least was able to get my computer straighten out.
