Virii & Spyware & Worms … oh my!
“Internet Safety” seems like an oxymoron.
It seems like not a day goes by where we don’t hear about some new kind of
threat aimed at wreaking havoc across machines connected to the internet. While
products other than Microsoft’s are certainly vulnerable, anti-Microsoft
sentiment coupled with the massive installed base make Microsoft products an irresistible target for hackers and “script kiddies”.
Here are some things you can, and should, do to stay safe.

Just in case you were getting bored with the economy and the candidates, Sony brings you their 2nd Annual Battery Recall. This event is being held at the Palm Shore Resort and is hosted by Dell, Toshiba, and HP…… . Sorry, but a little levity helps as the occurrence of laptops catching fire, exploding and possibly damaging life, limb and property has become so commonplace that it’s almost a seasonal event.

Last night, before I went to bed, the battery in my notebook felt a little hot. All these crazy thoughts went through my head. Was this the first sign before it explodes? What would I do if my notebook exploded in the middle of the night? Perhaps, I was being paranoid, but I pulled the battery out of my portable before drifting off to sleep.
